Everything in life stems from a story and stories connect people. It drives curiosity and changes lives. For Lauren, it is the principle behind all that she does. Born and raised in Kansas City, Lauren is a multifaceted storyteller and creative entrepreneur invigorated by new tech, building new pathways, and creative freedom to restore equity, authenticity, autonomy, play, and self-sovereignty. Lauren is a recent alum from Northwestern University with a degree in Film and minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Constantly driven by new ideas, visual poetry, artists, intentionality from spirit, new equitable ecosystems, and the curiosities of her mind, Lauren is a true director of story and design. Much of her focus stems from journey of self, human behavior, magical realism, afro surrealism, and re-imagination. These themes are played with through screenwriting, directing, photography, videography, music, design, movement, acting, and anything her heart desires to tell stories. As a co-founder of Project FILO alongside brother, Brandon Washington, their creative hub by artists, for artists is providing new ecosystems and tools for a new playground and bridge within all creative industries rooted in co-creation, curation, and collaboration.
